Rosalia Riera was born in Valencia, Spain. In 1958 she graduated from the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, Madrid, specializing in art restoration from the 14th to the 18th Century. She worked for the next two years as an assistant to her mentor, Andres Cillero. Later, she worked using enamel over metal with the Mexican artist Francisco Porras and his wife Ingell who is an accomplished miniaturist from Finland. She has exhibited her work in many galleries around the world, from Spain, England, Italy, France, Guatemala, Brazil, Venezuela, and the United States. She has won several important awards. In 1999, she moved to Miami, Florida, where she is an active member and a panel instructor in the Ceramic League of Miami.
