March came around the corner and with it, a new show by Cuban artist Jose Grave de Peralta. It was a beautiful collection of bongoseros done in pastels. It was a great opening night.
A great article was published in El Nuevo Herald by Elena Iglesias showcasing Pepe's work.

January and February ..... a fresh start!

January and February ..... a fresh start!
Although our Grand Opening was a huge success, it wasn't really until January and February that all sorts of positive things started happening.
New artists joined Zu Galeria. Artists like Carlos Acostaneyra, and from Madrid, Spain Daysi Carmona.
February's exhibit, All About Women was a great success! We featured artists from various parts of the world including Iraq, Turkey, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Miami, Venezuela, Mexico to name a few.
Partial proceeds of the evening's event were donated to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation South Florida Chapter and we were honored to have with us representing them and signing their official poster beautifully created by her, Cuban American artist Lidia Godoi.

Grand Opening of Zu Galeria!
On December 3, 2006 I opened the doors to my art gallery, right here in the very heart of Little Havana, Zu Galeria Fine Arts located exactly at 2248 SW 8th Street.

It was a huge success! There were over 300 people in attendance.......incredible..............never expected it to turn out so good!

The exhibit, Historias para Contar featured Cuban artists, Salvador Lorenzo, Manolo Rodriguez and Ramon Unzueta.

Another wonderful artist joined us later on, mexican artist Magda Audifred participated with her colorful pastels and has stayed with me for months and months... hopefully for good!
