A year ago I was fortunate to survive a heart attack, almost two, the other one was about to happen right when I was in the doctor's office. The day I was leaving the hospital, a few blocks away Cuban artist Carlos Sutil died tragically in a car accident. Carlos had gone to Pearl's to buy the materials for a proyect he was starting to work on for an interior decorator. I t was a big commission and he was excited with all the new things happening with his work. When I heard the news, I was completely blown away, speechless. I promised myself that his show would go on, Carlo's Show.
Carlos Sutil was a talented artist, who could work in various mediums and techniques. He was born in Havana, Cuba in 1962. He studied at "Artistic Design and Art School" in Havana, Cuba from 1978-1981, and continued studing on his own.
This exhibit features some of the last pieces finished by Carlos. There are also sculptures in wood, and his Mask Series Sculptures which were a success.
