Searching thru the web, I find the work of this great poet translated to English. Angel Cuadra is a very well known poet. He was imprisoned in Cuba in the 60's. Cuadra was released from prison in 1982 after a full sentence. This poem was taken from the book "A Correspondence of Poems"(from Jail) which presents Cuadra's poetic letters to the exiled Cuban poet Juana Rosa Pita.

Your poems that I never got, that undertook their journey across the dew and ended up in captivity and shipwreck; your naked words sent in a first edition by your hand for my hands and my eyes; devoured by wolves in their travel through a wood, messengers of a soulful food confiscated in bites; their echoes must be, like ghosts of sound, dragged from the wind by dark trees, cold sands and roads because, in the night, when the breeze plays on the walls and the bars, it brings a kind of presence of harmonies that's not precisely music
